This place lets you live out all your tequila-infused dreams. The hotel is located next to La Cofradia that is a tequila distillery outside the town of Tequila, Mexico.
As per the claims of the hotel, it is one of a kind in a tequila factory along with barrel-shaped rooms surrounded by an agave field. More than 20 options are available to choose from along with options for King and Queen size beds.
Details about the Property
Matices Hotel de Barricas means “expression of barrels”. The large tequila rooms have a large round glass for the entry. The 270-square-foot floor offers a round-shape bed, an attached bathroom and much more. Moreover, it also provides a private deck, coffee-maker, Wi-Fi, and a mini bar, huge windows to enjoy the views of the mountains and agave fields.
Each barrel is named after a tequila which is made at the distillery.
What to do
As the hotel is connected to the distillery, the guests have an opportunity to go and tastes the different types of tequilas and design their tequila bottle. Moreover, you can go for a ride on a tequila-themed train, try your hands at the tequila distilling, harvest agave etc. You can also take bike tours, go for a horseback ride in the agave fields and enjoy tutorials on how to ferment, distil, or create tequila.
A museum is there which offers tequila’s history. The hotel also provides complimentary breakfast, transportation to the downtown Tequila etc.

The hotel also offers a cave restaurant by the name La Taberna del Cofrade which is around 5 metres underground. The restaurant offers various drinks like cantarito– a combination of orange juice, lime juice grapefruit soda, tequila and salt.
The hotel also offers an opportunity to taste some of the distillery’s extra-aged tequila selections, various tequila liquors with flavours like mango and tamarind.
